Since I was a teen I’ve been imagining stories and scenarios in my head, not knowing I was creating movies that only I could see. Now, my passion is to create entertaining content with a meaningful underlying message.
The majority of my professional career has been in documentaries, and has taken me all around the world for a multitude of different businesses and clients. I shot and directed an endurance challenge across Africa, profiling stories of injustice and those fighting for hope. I have worked on projects based around sports, such as MMA, Muay Thai, and CrossFit in Singapore, Thailand, and South Korea.
In the music industry I edited documentaries, gig films, and behind-the-scenes content. Most recently I’ve produced and directed stories of indigenous peoples, artists, and cultural guides in Northern Canada.
All my life I have had one great focus - to be a filmmaker. Through my travels, work, and hobbies, I have always used every opportunity to learn, grow and develop as a filmmaker. I directed my first feature-length documentary called The Unjust & Us, a story of a man honouring his murdered brother by cycling from Cape Town to Cairo. Documenting intimate stories of the people we met along the way, introduced me to what would become the focus of my work… stories that have meaning.
Wildlife is a huge passion of mine. After witnessing a poaching incident in Malawi, where an elephant was killed, anti-poaching, wildlife crime, and animal welfare became a huge passion for me. This has led me to include such subjects in several of my scripts as well as volunteering as a video producer with the non-profit Baby Rhino Rescue.
While I have worked in a multitude of roles, my scriptwriting developed through my documentary work, and particularly with the sporting organization ONE Championship. There, I scripted countless athlete profiles, commercials, and documentaries.
Writing and directing documentaries in Northern Canada has pushed my script writing further as I tell the stories of real people living and struggling through challenging scenarios. This has particularly opened my eyes to indigenous cultures, and the dark history that still impacts many people today.
Working with anti-poachers at Kasangu in Malawi
Every experience in my life has been about gathering knowledge and skills for my screenwriting and filmmaking future.
So far, I have completed five feature screenplays and two television pilots. I’m currently working on a third pilot script, plus two features. Three of the feature screenplays have been well-received in Stage32 and ScreenCraft competitions, achieving quarterfinalist and finalist positions. All of which have been successfully submitted to A-list companies.
While I’ve always been a fan of big epic spectacle and action movies, I believe what makes my scripts unique is creating cinematic spectacle within worlds that are rarely seen on screen.
These include anti-poachers fighting for wildlife in Africa, an indigenous police officer fighting racial discrimination in the middle of a horror movie, a thriller based around the systemic murder of albinos in Tanzania, and the revenge story of a Comanche warrior in a classic-style Western.
